BROW FAQ’s

Yes, a patch test is required at least 48 hours your appointment. You can book this by contacting the studio directly - patch tests cannot be booked online. Patch tests are available on Thursday & Friday’s at Insation Hair & Beauty. Email bethanlouisestudio@gmail.com to arrange a test.

The studio is trialling at home patch tests, you will need to order one at least 7-10 days before your appointment to ensure it arrives on time. Please note that tests will not be sent out on weekends.

Please be aware that there is a 48 hour response time to emails, the studio will reply as soon as possible but it may take up to 48 hours during busy periods. 

YES!

Please check your skincare products, this includes moisturisers, cleansers, serums, toners etc! The main ingredients found in skincare are AHAs (including lactic acid and glycolic acid), Vitamin A & Vitamin A derivatives (including Retinol, Retinoid and Retinaldehyde) and BHA (Salicylic Acid). Stop using products containing these ingredients 14 days before your waxing appointment even if you do not apply it near the brow area.

If you are taking a course of antibiotics or steroids 

(oral or topical) please wait a minimum of 14 days before booking a brow treatment.

Anti wrinkle (Botox) must be administered two weeks BEFORE or AFTER brow waxing appointments. Please book your appointment with your aesthetics practitioner appropriately.

Appointments for a Brow Lamination will take around 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes depending on your brow type (thicker, coarser brows require longer processing times). 

Classic Brows are our quickest brow appointments at 45 minutes - perfect if you are short on time or dashing in your lunch break!

Signature & Hybrid Brows take around 60 minutes.

Henna Brow appointments are approximately an 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes.

No, brow treatments are not painful but you may experience temporary discomfort during the waxing element of the service and a soothing after wax lotion or oil will be applied.

Classic Brows will leave a light stain on your skin lasting 1-2 days and will colour your brow hairs for approximately 4 weeks.

Your Brow Lamination will last up to 8 weeks. 

Hybrid Brow skin stains last 7-14 days depending 

on aftercare and skin type. The tint will remain on the brow hair for up to 6 weeks and sometimes longer!

Henna Brow skin stains last 7-14 days depending on aftercare and skin type. The tint will remain on the brow hair for up to 6 weeks and sometimes even longer - this is much more than a standard tint!

First you will be invited to lay down on our treatment bed and get cosy! I will start by assessing your brows and discussing your brow goals with a mini consultation after which I shall begin your brow prep by shampooing the hairs and cleansing your skin. 

Next, solutions/colour for your chosen brow service will be applied and after a certain amount of time  has passed will be removed.

Time will be taken to map the brows to give them symmetry and shape followed by a wax and tidy.

All brow treatments often require a small amount of plucking to achieve the crisp, sharp brow line that is part of our signature style!

You will be given detailed aftercare advice following your appointment. If you have any questions after you have left the studio, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

There are a selection of carefully selected products available to purchase at the end of your appointment. These products have been tested and reviewed extensively which is why we stock them, they work!

Saint + Serenity is available to purchase in the studio, the Brow Restore is essential for nourishing Brow Lamination aftercare. 

Most of the brands and products used in the studio are not tested on animals and are Vegan friendly. Please contact us for further information regarding individual treatments so we can confirm suitability.
